The Reverend Barbara A. Ross is the Founder and Pastor of Philip R. Cousin AME Church located in Naperville, Illinois.

Reverend Ross has a strong passion and a deep love for the work of planting this new church. She is a visionary and she envisions herself just as God has called her to be - a church planter. With this vision she is helping to advance the kingdom of God which was the whole of Jesus' own preaching, teaching, and ministry.

"How Beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" (Romans 10:15)

Reverend Ross holds an Associate of Arts degree from South Suburban College, located in South Holland, Illinois; a Certificate in Executive Secretary Plus from American Business Institute; of Chicago, Illinois; and a Masters of Divinity Degree from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary; located in Evanston, Illinois. Currently Reverend Ross is working on a second Master Degree in Spiritual Formation and Evangelism at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary. Reverend Ross is also currently enrolled in the MDiv Plus Program and is working on a certification in Church Leadership from the joint collaboration of Kellogg School of Management's Center for Nonprofit Management at Northwestern University and Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. Both schools are located in Evanston, Illinois where the Seminary is on the campus of Northwestern University. The MDiv Plus Program is a new program that is in its inaugural year that Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and Kellogg School of Management's Center for Nonprofit Management at Northwestern University have jointly collaborated to produce this joint certification.

Reverend Ross is the mother of three adult sons; Tommy DeWayne, Thomas Orlando (Megan Louise Ross), and Timothy Wendell (7-11-81 - 1-18-98). She is also the grandmother of one handsome grandson; Nathan Wendell Ross, age 4.
